4th of July edition
49th Annual Key Biscayne 4th of July Parade begins with a flyover of F16s at 11am on Crandon Boulevard. The theme for 2008 is "Freedom for All". Take part in this great celebration of our nation to meet and greet with neighbors. This event is free to the public. Key Biscayne 4th of July Committee Non-profit organization in operation since 1959, Key Biscayne 4th of July Parade Committee members raise funds and solicit participants. We are celebrating our 49th year of our annual 4th of July Parade. Join us on Crandon Blvd. at 11am for a flyover from the Homestead airbase followed by floats and community officials. Committee meets for 6-7 months prior to 4th of July each year. Go to www.kb4.org for application and details on participating in the parade.

July 4, 2008 Key Biscayne Community Church hosts Lunch for Veterans Hospital patients. Following the 11am parade, the Sons of the American Legion have invited patients from the Veterans Hospitals as guests of honor for this year’s parade. Members are needed to assist. The lunch will be held in the Patterson-Heyman Hall following the 4th of July Parade.

June 16-August 8 Village of Key Biscayne Parks and Recreations Dept. presents Marine Biology Camp 2008. Director Girard Loisel has been specializing in teaching marine biology to students for over 32 years. Loisel brings this experience to Key Biscayne kids ages 8-14 with  week-long camp schedules for summer 2008. Camp kids will explore the tidal zones of Bear Cut, visit Miami Seaquarium, conduct scientific research, and learn about dangerous marine animals.
