May 17, 2008 10am-4pm American Red Cross, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Miami Seaquarium team up to offer WHALE Tales, a water safety educational program for children. WHALE (Water Habits Are Learned Early) was created by the American Red Cross to teach children grades kindergarten – 5th grade water safety guidelines for staying safe and having fun while in close contact with water. WHALE Tales will take place at Miami Seaquarium during the weekends of May 17th, 18th, 24th and 25th.

The School Board is forced to find programs to cut, and the school program with Dade County teachers at the Biscayne Nature Center is one possibility.
