Beginning August 1: Miami Spice Restaurant Month!
Enjoy a special three-course lunch for $22 and three-course dinner for $35 (plus tax and gratuity) at Cioppino, named one of "America's top 20 new restaurants by Esquire magazine," during Miami Spice Restaurant Month this August and September 2007.
Cioppino at The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne features beautifully simple Tuscan cuisine reminiscent of a quaint repast in Siena, a seafood feast on the island of Elba, or a superb dinner overlooking the Arno River in Florence. An extensive wine list showcases Chiantis from Castellina to Ruffina as well as other classic Italian wine flavors. MIAMI-DADE ALERTS! Registration begins for Miami-Dade County’s Wireless Emergency Alerting System Pilot Program
Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Alvarez and C. Douglas Bass, Miami-Dade County’s Director of Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, are pleased to announce that Miami-Dade Alerts!, Miami-Dade County’s Wireless Emergency Alerting System Pilot Program, is open for registration. Residents in Miami-Dade County who participate in the Miami-Dade Alerts! test pilot program can receive – for free – text alerts to cell phones and other mobile devices advising them of emergency information, including severe thunderstorm, tornado, tropical storm and hurricane warnings.
“The safety of our residents and visitors during natural and man-made disasters will always be a priority for Miami-Dade County government. The Miami-Dade Alerts! Program is another tool to help keep residents informed and prepared,” said Mayor Alvarez.
“This is an opportunity for our residents to receive information during an emergency,” said Director Bass. “This is one of the new tools that the Miami-Dade County Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security has to augment other notification systems through which emergency information can be shared with our residents.”
To register, residents can go to www.miamidade.gov and sign up by entering their cell phone, e-mail and/or pager number, city and zip code. For more information, contact Jaime Hernandez, Public Information Officer, Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security at 305-468-5451.

Why My Fitness Programs Are Different? I am an AFAA certified personal trainer and Group Exercise Certified Instructor that help children and families to understand how they can achieve a healthier life style by transforming their unhealthy habits through special exercises and fun eating habits.
In my years of experience working with fitness programs for kids, I have discovered that the hardest thing for kids has been keeping up with a fitness plan. This is why I set up fitness programs for kids that have a unique approach which allows me to address their special needs. These programs are special because they work on areas such as decreasing body fat, improving muscle and bone mass, increasing the ability to perform work with less fatigue, increasing metabolism, endurance, development of movement, coordination, creative thinking, self-esteem, social skills and the improvement of problem-solving skills.
One of the problems that children find is that most programs are designed for adults. For this reason many children do not obtain the results that they seek, and they lose interest in programs that are not enjoyable for them.
My programs for kids offer the best personal training workouts because they are designed expressly for children. Since children enjoy fun and games, the exercises are presented in the form of games. This is why I offer simple strategies and tactics that will change your child's body composition at the same time that he is having fun playing.
I also offer private fitness classes for families and programs for obese children because I believe that obesity in children and teenagers is a serious matter of public concern today. This is a problem that continues into their adult lives. I love to create an attitude of prevention in parents; so that, we can reduce the impact of this obesity epidemic in the future.
