Sunday August 7 6:30am – 9:30am: ATTENTION KEY BISCAYNE RESIDENTS! The Rickenbacker Causeway will be re-routed due to the Huntington Disease Triathlon. The south side of the causeway will be used for traffic flow and the north side of the causeway will be used for bike participants. Thursday, August 11: Deadline to advertise in The Islander News Back-to-School Edition, K.B. Kids. Key Biscayne businesses will get a shot in the arm in the next few weeks as residents with children return from vacation to start the 2005-2006 school year. Miami-Dade County Public Schools begin classes Friday, August 5. Private schools will be openings their doors two to three weeks after that. In order for local businesses to attract the most residents possible, The Islander News has set the date for its annual back-to-school edition, K.B. Kids, for Thursday, August 18. K.B. Kids will include helpful information for parents as well as fun activities for children. It will be distributed at all Key Biscayne schools and well as to Islander News subscribers.
