Wednesday June 8, 15 and 22 from 7 to 9pm: Understanding Great Music, a series of 3 lectures by Jorge Mora. Music, the most sublime and abstract of all arts, is a universal, non-verbal language that provides access to social, cultural and historical traditions of different times and places. Music is a mirror of its society.  As a society changes, so does its music. An understanding of  “Concert music”, exploring the life, times, personality and styles of the composers can free our imagination, making us more appreciative of an entire language of unmatched beauty, genius and power.

This series of talks will examine Western (European) music, from the late Renaissance to our times. 250 years of great music. Concert music, once understood, will move your life forever.  The 3 lectures will be offered by Jorge Mora at the Key Biscayne Community Center, Free for members, $5.00 for non-members. Wine and cheese , of course.
