Adita Yrizarry-Lang, the founder of the studio, has over 20 years of experience as an educator to both the fitness professional and the consumer. She prides herself in providing her clientele with a well rounded program that corrects painful muscular imbalances and enhances the body’s ability to build strength. The Marjorie Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center has organized many special programs for February and March: Sunday, February 20, 11am –1pm Seagrass Adventure: Join an experienced Naturalist for a wet guided tour of the Seagrass beds, appropriate for ages 5 through adult. Wear closed toe shoes that can get wet, and bring a change of clothes for this exciting adventure! This event is also being held on March 5th and March 19th from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Sunday, February 27 3 – 6pm : The Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center in Crandon Park on Key Biscayne will host the one-woman art show of Judith Saylor, wife of Larry Saylor, Brookstreet Securities. Judith Saylor’s Key Biscayne representations are tied to the abundant nature surrounding her in South Florida. Her paintings reflect the saturation of color and brilliant light. Please join Judy and Larry and see her colorful original acrylic nature paintings on canvas, Giclees and greeting cards. All sales benefit the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center and their good works within our community. The show continues through April 3. This event is free and open to the public. March 5 , 9am –12pm: Volunteer Eco Restoration Day. Help is always needed with the planting of native species and the removal of exotic and invasive vines from the Bear Cut Preserve. Join us the first Saturday of every month to create and improve an important bird and butterfly habitat. Call for more details. Program fee is $10 per person. Registration is required for all tours. The project is one where used cell phones are collected (they must have the battery but no charger is necessary) and sent to the national Cell Phones For Soldiers location in Massachusetts. They in turn have the cell phones recycled. The proceeds go to buy telephone calling cards for soldiers in the Middle East. This project was started by two youngsters in Massachusetts when they read about a soldier who had run up enormous telephone bills calling home. In the year since its inception, more than $250,000 has been raised. Cell phones may be taken to The Islander News or the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce.
